There are a few summer camps for kids with cancer and these kids get offered a week at a camp, however often the child cant go at the time, due to a vast number of medical reasons - fever, low immunity, surgery, recovery, treatments, appointments, not feeling well, cant travel, etc., and they miss out. Childhood cancer and other terminal diagnoses are not rare and it affects soo many children.
The mission of Golden Key Charity has always been to open a fully handicap accessible year round park and camp for children to visit a day or a week never a cost to the family, and WE ARE SOO HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE WE HAVE BOUGHT A CAMP. We will NOW be able to help them all through our camp! And we invite you to join in the fun! I always say it takes a village to help so many kids and together our "village" has granted wishes to and brought joy to them during their journey. as well as donating thousands of toys, arts /crafts to Motts children's hospital, Children's Hospital of Michigan. In just a few years Golden Key charity has helped hundreds of children like Roza, Elizabeth, Austin, Dominick, James, Zachary, Bella, Chloe, Nova, Makaela, Maleah, Trista, Reese.

The camp is a retired church camp that originally started in 1950 it was shut down 7 years ago the exact Time that God put this vision in my heart 7 years ago it was like they closed it and passed the torch to us! It has 3 houses a cafeteria with dining hall a chapel 2 large bunkhouses several cabins several storage buildings a huge Pole a horse barn ITS INCREDIBLE A lake and it's on the river all on 55 acres!! All the buildings are in pretty good shape but they all need work. Dreams do come true TIME TO CRY YOUR HAPPY TEARS!! WE DID IT!! DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!! WE BOUGHT A CAMP!! ON AUG 8 I SIGNED THE PAPERS, GOLDEN KEY.CHARITY NOW OWNS A 55 ACRE CAMP!! THANK YOU TO ALL.THAT MADE THIS DREAM COME TRUE FOR KIDS FIGHTING ALL KINDS OF DEVASTATING DIAGNOSES.
